Dan Patterson Area
Nestled in the Kettle Creek valleylands, Dan Patterson is a popular picnic spot that offers an abundance of shade trees, group camping, a rentable picnic pavilion, a playground, and off-leash dog park. Featuring two looped moderate trails totalling 5.8 kms, hikers can explore the area and do some bird watching. Also perfect for cross-country skiing in the winter months.
For those who enjoy history, the site is home to a restored log cabin, a replica water tower and windmill. The cabin was originally the home of Alexander Patterson, who emigrated from Scotland in 1834.
No permit is required and parking is free.
